In the spirit of empowerment and continued improvement, Redfern once again lead the way in Black Economic Empowerment.
We are proud to announce that through effort and team work, we have successfully completed our third BBBEE audit, through Empowerdex (Pty) Ltd, scoring a BB rating. The current certificate was issued in April 2008. The drop in the rating, is largely due to us moving from a QSE to a Generic score card. We do anticipate having another audit before the end of 2009, to once again improve on our score.
We still see visible evidence of the importance and working of black economic positions within the company. This is in our opinion true empowerment, and we look forward to further growth in this area.
David explains: "At Redfern we believe that empowerment is the key to long-term success. By making our own employees co-owners of the company, we'll be able to benefit from a vast pool of experience, while simultaneously establishing a structure in which co-operation thrives."
